Twins Born of Ecstasy
Alan Hammond: Here are two quotations. The first is from Isaiah.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9).
The second is a little more specific, with words spoken by Michelangelo who, as most of us will know, is considered one of the greatest artists of the western world. He said, "The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection." Michelangelo was particularly known for his sculptures. Sculptures are often images of flesh carved from stone. We might compare this with the divine art of sculpting that also utilizes stone (minerals), creating living, breathing, thinking forms of flesh. That is quite a contrast in art. We won't take time now to continue contrasting human technology with the divine.
There could be a study of the ecology of divine art. Every form created in the living Design fits together so artistically. There are billions of forms, and the creation is not just at the physical level. The forms all intertwine at the spiritual, consciousness, and physical levels. This involves an interlocking, interactive Design utilizing such elements as sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch. Now there is a living work of art!
An aspect of art is drama. There is drama involved in the life cycle of every living organism, and the life cycle of every species. All these lives are full of ritual, pageantry-and above all, purpose. Even with our limited consciousness we can appreciate something of the wonder and beauty of the Archangelic artistry. It ranges from the submicroscopic to the full range of ecology on this planet. It then ranges beyond this planet into the galaxy and the whole cosmos. All this is multidimensional creation-a vast work of art indeed!
Beauty in anything is a manifestation of a particular focus of the ecstatic state in Being. Having said all this about divine art, we can still enjoy current human attempts at artistic expression. But we also realize there is far more to emerge. This comparison is not a put-down of human beings, but a realistic perspective, and also an encouragement to return to true Identity as an aspect of the Archangelic Artist.
The Archangel, as we have named it, is doing everything on Earth. I think most scientists would agree that what we call science sees amazing efficiency in creation. Many scientists also see artistry in the organisms studied. Efficiency in nature reveals art, and art in Nature reveals efficiency. John Keats intuitively recognized this when he said, "Beauty is truth, truth beauty,-that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know." Let's look for a few moments at the Archangelic creativity through science and art on Earth. The Archangelic expression creates vegetation, microbes, and all creatures, utilizing some basic materials that we can summarize with the words water, air earth, and fire. In the three-dimensional cosmos, divine Being utilizes basic ingredients and forces that are available in those three dimensions, to create forms for its spiritual expression. Actually, spiritual expression also contains substances and processes for even more refined creation in dimensions of which human beings are now unconscious.
But even now in our present state as human beings, as subcontractors as it were, and as part of the Archangelic Body, we can still co-create. For example, we can create other human forms through procreation. We can produce vegetation by utilizing seeds, water, air, earth, and fire. This is magical, but the human consciousness has become so numb that it has lost the sense of wonder at being part of the Archangelic Artist. The art and science of living involves functioning within the laws and the nature of true Being, which means exemplifying behavior that fits in the larger Design and within the purposes of the Whole.
The archangelic creative process for creating living forms utilizes what we have called sex, which can be described as an ecstatic intensity of radiation. What a beautiful focus for the creative expression of Being! Nothing is rightly just beautiful. Everything that is beautiful also serves a purpose in the technology of the Whole. Sex is a good example of this, because the perception of beauty is put to scientific creative use. For example, is the shape of a face art or science? Is the color of a flower beauty or science? Science is concerned with how things work, but design is also at the core of art. So in the divine world, art is science and science is art. Both are simply different aspects of the Tone of Spirit in action. We could say that beauty is present when a form fits into the processes and purposes of the one whole organism. If we see what something is doing in the larger Design, we will begin to see that thing as beautiful in itself.
There are some interesting correlations between mathematics-vibrational rates and ratios-and beauty. For example there is a close correlation between mathematics and music-vibrations that give different pitches in sound. There are also correlations between mathematics and color, where different vibratory rates produce different colors, between mathematics and proportion, which relates to our visual sensations, and between mathematics and the thinking processes of logic. But more than this, people have the unconscious ability to sense proportion and other nuances of vibration, vibratory rates, through their feelings. That is about as conscious as most such perception becomes. People unconsciously perceive invisible forms of beauty or ugliness in their circumstances, or in their interchanges with other people. Unfortunately, the feeling realms of human beings are not clear, and therefore their feeling perceptions of what is going on in the invisible realms around them tend to be inaccurate. Also, their expression of feelings often lacks tonal proportion. This flaw in the feeling mechanism is a major reason why the human contribution to the Archangelic art is so minimal-and indeed, is a blight upon it at every level.
There are the usual levels of art and science currently familiar to human beings, but there is also the art of vibrational creation through the radiation of feelings and thoughts into an individual's creative field. Our individual creative field and function is actually part of a vast, collective Archangelic field. This one creative field is controlled from a higher level of Being than that of human beings. One implication of this is that there is no need to fuss about other people's function. It is a futile pastime anyway. We recognize that everything is being controlled from another level, and this level is coordinating the whole creative field.
Most people are concerned only with their own self-centered plans. We, awakening to the presence of this larger collective creative field, are open to the larger Design, which we recognize is very complex. In our own personal experience of life, we have found that events are not always how we would like them to be. Sometimes factors don't quite come together as we imagine would be best for us. For example, we can sum it up with that famous phrase, "I met the right person at the wrong time." We could elaborate on a million such circumstances in our lives. However, our mode of living now is to always maintain a creative attitude. This attitude makes us optimally available to the Archangelic process. As we do this more accurately in our living, we reveal our greater union with the Archangelic Artist and Its artistry.
The most valuable part of human artistry is not the creation of outer forms, but the fashioning of the far more potent levels of vibrational substance-our thoughts, feelings, and spiritual expression. Now, seeking to move with this larger pattern doesn't make us doormats to circumstances, because we need to discern in the moment whether to vibrationally push, or pull, or let. The criteria guiding us in this level of artistry is, what is the honorable action in this situation-even if it is seemingly not to our personal advantage.
Thoughts have been said to be things. They are forms in a certain level of substance. I wonder what they would look like if they took picture form around us-quite a thought, perhaps! But in fact they do compose something of a gallery in our personal consciousness. This leads to another aspect of this subject. We all inevitably encounter and experience distorted, ugly, painful thoughts and feelings at times. This we recognize is unavoidable. They emerge perhaps from our own subconscious minds and past experiences. They may emerge from the large collective body of mankind, of which we are a part. Or they may even emerge from nature-vibrational patterns emerging from that aspect of the planetary body. The big question is, "What do we do with them?" Do we immediately project them, or do we seek to let them come under the influence of the Tone and allow changes to be made in them? Here is a vital aspect of our artistry on Earth at this time.
As Angels and part of the Archangelic Identity, we can express this Identity and artistry in our living. Let us also acknowledge, applaud and encourage spiritual artistry whenever we see it through the people we encounter. This too is a vital part of our art, because in encouraging the expression of the Archangelic Spirit, we are assisting in the expansion of Archangelic Art.
Virtually everyone has an image of themselves in their own consciousness-a sort of self-portrait. These can be most destructive. For one thing, there is much imagination about what would constitute the divine image of oneself, or anyone else for that matter. The truth is that each of us is divine. No matter where we were in the cosmos at any time, we could not reveal the full image or range of our Identity in any given moment. We may imagine ourselves now (notice the word image-ine) as perhaps a king or a queen, or as a mediocre nobody. All false images of oneself are counterproductive in the divine technology. Each of us has a unique job to do in the Design now. We can let the form of our expression be whatever it needs to be in the moment. The criteria for our expression are merely to let the Tone be expressed.
Beauty in living and in any action, as in any work of art, requires proportion. Proportion isn't a fixed thing. It depends upon context. In philosophy there is a branch that discusses what is called situational ethics. That means that the ethics of an action depends upon its context. The appropriateness of an action, from the divine standpoint, depends upon the situation. The action needs to be an expression of the Truth of Love. For example, it can be the right thing in certain circumstances, to strike someone. That might be the most creative, loving thing to be done. The point is that there is no fixed proportion, no fixed action that is good. It depends upon its context. Actions, like numbers, change in their value depending upon their position. Take the numeral five. Five has a certain value when it is on its own. If you put two fives together side by side, one of those fives changes value. If you put three of them together, a different context, the same numeral changes its value in that picture.
Every work of art requires a central focus of attention. For example, in music a theme is needed. In a painting there is invariably an object that is the focus of the painting. In a drama there is a character or an event around which the drama unfolds. In the artistry of our lives a focus point is also needed. That focus point should be our true Identity. The focus point for our lives is not our families, not our friends, not our career, nor any role or position we might occupy. It is our true Identity. If this central and true Identity is present, all the other characters, events, and circumstances will appear around this point of focus and will produce a true masterpiece from the Archangelic point of view. A masterpiece of a life is possible for every Angel, regardless of the materials available to that Angel-be it the nature of the human form occupied, the settings of birth, growth, development, or any challenges that may have emerged in the Angel's experience of life on Earth. As the central, true Identity emerges in the context of this drama, a masterpiece also appears.
"Well," you may say, "Other people wouldn't agree with that if they were looking at the forms in my life." Forget the critics and forget comparisons of your life with anybody else's. The critics know nothing, and it is impossible to compare the outer forms in people's lives, because each person is in an absolutely unique context, at every level. Having said this, we mustn't fool ourselves either. We must factually deliver spiritual expression artistically moment by moment.
So we can produce a masterpiece of a life as we express the Tone of our true Being in every moment. In doing this as individuals, we bring our contribution to the multidimensional Archangelic creation, the purpose of which is to bring a multidimensional revelation of Heaven on Earth. What a wonderful way to spend our time-creating an ecstatic experience in Being!
