The Ebb and Flow of Male and Female Energies
Larry Krantz: This is the week before Christmas, a very busy time for most people. The days are short and the winter solstice is at hand. Into this busyness we may offer a current that is uplifting and brings to remembrance our divine nature.
One of the great universal forces is gravity. It is invisible and mysterious. Scientists do not know how it works, although its effects are easy to see. One doesn't need to be Sir Isaac Newton to know that if you jump up gravity will pull you down. Gravity cannot be shielded against with lead as one might with x-rays. It works on everything, not just certain metals as with magnetism. Gravity pulls toward the center of the Earth no matter where you are on the surface of the planet. If something is dropped, it travels down a line of force, accelerating until a maximum speed is attained, buffered by air resistance-a "terminal velocity." This force pulls straight down, which is useful when putting up a building. A rock tied to the end of a string and let go will make a vertical line, which is a helpful guide to build walls that don't lean and floors that don't tilt.
Gravity is associated with objects that have mass. The greater the mass, the more the gravitational pull. So the moon, which is smaller than our planet, has less gravity. The Sun, which is much larger, has a vast gravitational field. You might think that all these stars with immense gravity would eventually be drawn together into the center of the cosmos, forming a big clump. Yet, when scientists measured the movements of stars, they found that celestial objects were actually moving away from each other, that the universe is expanding rather than contracting. To explain this, they decided that the universe must have started as a dense mass in the center of things and exploded outward-the so-called Big Bang. Yet, precise measurements of celestial objects, taking into account gravity and this Big Bang, did not account for what is observed. Scientists realized there must be another force, opposing gravity-not a pulling force, but a pushing force, anti-gravity, which exists in the dark spaces between stars. They named this force, "dark energy." When that is factored in, celestial objects move as predicted, confirming the existence of this force.
More recently, some scientists have argued that with the pulling force of gravity and the pushing force of dark energy, there may not have been a Big Bang after all, that the universe simply goes through cycles of expansion and contraction. We are in an expansive phase now. When the cosmos expands far enough, the dark energy will get stretched and weakened and gravity will pull it back, until the dark energy compresses and pushes outward again. So, perhaps the universe is engaged in very long cycles of expansion and contraction, pulsations, akin to our breathing in and breathing out.
Thankfully, we do not need to decide how the universe began. It exists now. I Am. That is enough. In any case, the origin of the cosmos, or of life, cannot be found by examining externals, since all forms emerge from spirit, from a level invisible to mankind. We see the effects of the inner reality, not the reality itself. Some questions cannot be answered because they are the wrong questions.
These celestial forces ebb and flow and maintain a balance, letting stars and galaxies move as they should in a magnificent cosmic dance of sorts. These forces are not competing, but complement each other and together make a working whole. The same is true for male and female forces, as differentiated on Earth-invisible forces complementing each other. To me, gravity seems a feminine force. Mother Earth holds her children close. She embraces us with gravity, which prevents us from flying off into space-which is a good thing! Dark energy is something of a masculine force, pushing outward, away from home, expansive.
In the Book of Job, the question was asked, "Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?" Fallen man cannot answer, or even understand, the question. But divine men and divine women not only understand the question but can answer it in their living, which is what matters. The Pleiades is a delicate cluster of stars referred to as the seven sisters-very contained, shimmering like jewels in the night sky, feminine. The constellation Orion is large, the hunter striding across the night sky, with a sword hanging from his belt, which is symbolic of truth and mental function.
These are good symbols of what men and women should bring to focus. Men can have a sweet side and women can have their adventurous, mentally strong side. But generally, feminine forces come to focus in women and masculine forces come to focus in men and I would consider them that way.
With women, the feeling realm is dominant, what is present in the heart. All too often, what women bring forth is anything but sweet. Hearts can be hurt and insecurity deeply felt. What comes forth in feelings may be bitter or sour or angry or scornful, even hurtful. Great power resides in the feeling realm, in the heart, and that force impacts others, particularly men and children. On the other hand, a woman can have feelings that are beautiful, selfless, giving, uplifting, encouraging and creative. Such an atmosphere lifts up everyone connected, opening the way for new possibilities to be seen and on that basis something beautiful to be born.
Women can have dominion over their feelings by choosing to embrace only what is sweet, what is of heaven, what is creative, and bind these emotions. It does no good fighting wrong feelings. What is needed is to embrace only emotions that reflect heaven, that are sweet. Too often, in the fallen state, women bring forth feelings that are destructive, whether knowingly or not. There is no need to manipulate, no need to tie pleasing emotions to externals, holding back warmth and sweetness in an attempt to shape the world the way they want, and make men do their bidding. A divine woman is only interested in uplifting others and creating a world of beauty. Joyous feelings give color and dimension to our lives. They empower us. Beauty, a feminine quality, as in a beautiful woman, is said to be attractive, which is another term for gravity. An open heart that binds the sweet influences is not clouded by disturbed feelings, and therefore transparent to what is moving in the invisible realm. This allows an accurate perception of intuition, a deep sensing of things that is invaluable to everyone.
Men, in the fallen state, try to protect their images, their fragile egos, by manipulating, bending the truth, trying to look better than they think they are. Too often, they scheme and lie and cloud issues with tangled or clever thoughts, to present a preferred appearance. Thus, they are seen as untrustworthy and lacking integrity. Their thinking is bound by opinions and beliefs-religious, political, and otherwise-false patterns, or mental constructs, held dearly, and often fought over. Divine man must let go of these oppressive, blanketing beliefs and lies that prevent true, inspired thinking. Such deadly patterns of so-called thought must be loosed, so that what is true and right may find clear expression. True manhood is built upon honesty and integrity. When the focus is on what comes from above, then a clear purpose and direction may be known and what a man says can be depended on. Such a man is trustworthy and represents the will of the Lord.
Men and women first must focus on what is higher. Feelings and thoughts come from above; they reveal what is moving vibrationally in heaven. A correct translation will reveal an ebb and flow between male and female forces, within the individual and between people. For example, we have holidays approaching. The gravitational force of women, particularly of mothers, tends to pull the family inward, toward home. Afterwards, male forces may move them away, out into their separate lives, to achieve on their own. There is the drawing-in female substance that connects people and outgoing male substance. They form an ever-changing balance, from the warmth and stability of home, away to meet situations, then back again, a push and pull that allows free movement and function for the creative purposes of the whole.
Perhaps we should consider relationships more specifically, particularly the intense and fiery relationships between men and women. Both sexes look for mates, which is natural, since there should be a blending of men and women, in ways that fit each person's situation. Usually, the first impression is physical attraction. Most people have an idealized concept of what they would find attractive in a mate, physical characteristics. Men do it, and so do women. On that basis, a relationship may develop. Sometimes it gets intimate rather quickly. If the relationship persists, they find out more about each other, discuss religion and politics, social views, and so on. This is a mental level of connection. If this continues, they may find purpose together in raising children, sharing finances, buying a house. Yet, such a marriage is built on shifting sand; it may last, but all too often ends painfully.
What should come first is the spiritual expression phase, which relates to shared purpose. Physical and mental attributes are secondary. The other person's appearance or outer characteristics, or any preconceived judgment, should not come into play. All that matters is what Life needs, not what I want. If there is a shared purpose and Life brings two people together, they can discover what they share at the mental level, then at the physical plane-all to achieve their purpose together. This is the reverse of the way fallen men and women develop relationships based on externals. To put it another way, the puny human mind with its vaunted judgments and opinions, cannot possibly encompass the vibratory factors that determine whom each person should be with, and the maximum fulfillment that can be known when both are focused on what is higher, what is needed for the whole.
If we were freed up, not judging external appearances, then right combinations of people would flow as they should, from casual working configurations and friendships to intimate relations. In this way, we will find those we are drawn to, and those that are drawn to us. They will probably not be the ones we would have picked, but are the ones with whom we should engage. On this true basis, everyone shares the fulfillment of God, which is joyful and satisfying in ways that are virtually unknown now.
What I have described is holy union-in alignment with spirit, with the Lord. Anything else, including most present combinations of people, is unholy, and not part of the divine design. It is often said, "What God has joined together, let no man put asunder." Most relationships are not what Life would have brought together, including many who are married, even if such words were pronounced over their union. A true marriage is based on what God has joined, not what fallen men and women try to force into place based on their judgments and preferences. Of course, spirit is adaptable and people can make the best of any situation and be creative in it, but it is difficult to swim against the current. It is so much easier to go where spirit would have us, which takes into account all factors, including our own happiness and fulfillment. This is the only way that the body of God may be formed on Earth-necessary parts come into place, to build the machinery required to elevate human experience to the divine state.
Life knows what is best for the full range of relationships and combinations of people. In a true configuration you may scratch your head and wonder what you have in common and why you were drawn together. Yet, as the cycle unfolds, these folks will prove to be the perfect ones to achieve what is required, each with unique gifts and talents necessary for a particular creative achievement. Great precision is required, an accurate sensing of where we need to be and with whom. In this way, we can find the proper spacing from others, some closer than we might think, and others more distant. If we put aside human judgments and preferences, relationships will be free to take on the shape and character they should, and last for the proper length of time in the larger creative cycle. We should simply let Life have its perfect way.
The divine is felt first through the heart. This is why the feminine role is so essential. When divine women bind the sweet influences, when their hearts are pure and joyous, it makes for a fertile creative field around them, especially for men who can relax in this substance, feel encouraged and nurtured, and let divine thoughts emerge into consciousness. When men can be free of concepts and beliefs, they can sense a clear direction and purpose, guided by Truth, leading the way to great achievement. The sharing of essences, male and female, brings a sense of intimate, joyous fulfillment to everyone. On that basis, something new is born. This is the way it should work, to the glory of God.
So we have the opportunity to let the design emerge as it should, letting male and female essences blend in ways that are appropriate, in unending patterns of engagement. It is this ebb and flow that holds things in place, that lets stars move with precision through the cosmos, and lets the creation close at hand move as it should. From holy union comes unified radiation, which permits the wondrous birth of something new and vital. Ultimately, the New Earth is born of fire, the fire of Love, found in the blending of male and female substance.
We have the opportunity to know our place in the cosmic whole, to let the design emerge as it will, to go where we are needed, and serve with those whom Life brings to us and us to them. It is a privilege to be conscious of these things and let specific radiation go forth, which is especially useful at this time of year. I'm delighted to be with all of you today and share in this creation.
